Now that my kids are older, gone are the days when all of us can squeeze into one hotel room. 😅 We need space. Lots and lots of it. And Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard, Singapore offers that… and more.

Strategically located in Orchard Road, it has newly refurbished apartments with separate living and bedroom areas, kitchenette, washing machine & dryer and even eco-friendly In-room Filtered Water Taps, providing safe drinking water on demand. No need for bottled water. 😊

But I think the main draw has got to be the huge amount of space that our Two Bedroom Executive Suite offers - perfect for my family of 5. Smaller families or couples can go for the One Bedroom Deluxe Suite or One Bedroom Premium Suite (30% larger).

Facilities include a Hydro-Therapeutic Spa, fully- equipped Fitness Centre, Ionised Swimming Pool with Hydro-Rider Aqua Treadmill & Bicycle (yes, in the pool!) and a huge Lounge with free-flow coffee, massage chairs and X-Box Kinect! Now that’s what I call a staycation!!!

P.S. Because Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard is a serviced residence and not a full-fledged hotel, there is a minimum stay requirement of 6 nights. So perhaps it’s more suited for the year-end holidays. If you are looking for a 1 or 2 night staycation, you can try the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road instead. 😊

[ 藍可兒案，恐怖的不只是一個女孩的死 ]

昨天看完了《犯罪現場：賽西爾酒店失蹤事件》（Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel），發現這整個案件，最恐怖的竟然不只是藍可兒的死。

藍可兒是一個 21 歲華裔加拿大女孩，有躁鬱症病史，生前常在 tumblr 上抒發心情。從她的文字裡看得出來，雖然她深受精神疾病所困，但仍試著努力保持樂觀正向，期待自己活出精采的人生。
藍可兒和其他年輕人一樣嚮往旅行，於是她說服爸媽讓她獨自去洛杉磯玩，並保證自己都會每天報平安。沒想到，藍可兒在入住洛杉磯 Stay on Main Hotel 後沒多久，就突然音訊全無、人間蒸發。

後來才知道，原來那家 Stay on Main Hotel，原本竟然是該區惡名昭彰的賽西爾酒店 Hotel Cecil 改建而來，地點就在臭名遠播的 Skid Row 區旁邊，那裡全是遊民、罪犯、精神病人，許多人搭個帳篷就住在路邊，街上毒品、暴力、性交易等犯罪猖獗，無法無天的地步，可說是洛杉磯裡的 No Man’s Land。而 Hotel Cecil 不只提供觀光客日租，也提供廉價的長租，於是吸引了很多社會邊緣人進駐，環境一團烏煙瘴氣，謀殺、吸毒過量、意外死亡等事件層出不窮，簡直是名符其實的鬼店。

Hotel Cecil 為了重整形象，最終把整棟飯店隔成兩個大區，還做了兩個出入口不同的大廳，一個是時髦明亮的 Stay on Main，一個則是原本的 Hotel Cecil，兩個區域的電梯則是共用的。藍可兒當初以為自己下榻的是乾淨明亮的 Stay On Main，卻對埋藏在裡頭的黑暗背景一無所知。

這部分讓我覺得很可怕的，是人們如何將社會的漏網之魚，全部趕到同一區去自生自滅。 Skid Row 街上流浪的人，還有棲身在 Hotel Cecil 裡的人，在外人眼中看來，不是社會的受害者，而是欲除之而後快的渣滓，Skid Row 和 Hotel Cecil 基本上就是便利的垃圾桶，人渣垃圾全部往裡面送，眼不見為淨。

《犯罪現場：賽西爾酒店失蹤事件》也點出另一個很恐怖的社會現象，那就是在當今的網路生態中，有太多說話不負責任的酸民與鍵盤柯南。警方當初偵辦藍可兒案時，因為案情陷入膠著，於是決定將藍可兒生前在電梯裡出現的最後畫面公諸於世，期待大眾能提供有用情報。沒想到，這短短的影片竟然一夕爆紅，吸引了一大票鍵盤柯南們的瘋狂投入，他們花了成千上百的時間去推敲去超譯，本該是秉著一片「一起破案」的好意，但到後來你才發現，有太多人投入這案子，不是因為他們真的在意「藍可兒」這個人是誰，而是他們把這整個案子當成一種遊戲，並將自己過份投射到藍可兒身上，好像為了這個可憐女子討了公道，就是為自己人生中的種種失落討了公道。其中也有許多 YouTuber 用疑神疑鬼的方式，將藍可兒案塑造成一起「詭異」的懸疑素材，有的還實地走訪 Hotel Cecil 去做調查，在電梯裡嘻嘻鬧鬧。
追逐這起撲朔迷離的案子給了網民們一個明確的生活意義，但他們畢竟都不是專業人士，看事情也有很多個人偏見，於是各式各樣偏離焦點、妨礙調查的陰謀論應運而生，其中更有無辜的人被慘烈「犧牲」。

幾年前，一位名叫 Morbid 的死亡重金屬樂手被指認是殺了藍可兒的兇手，因為他曾在藍可兒入住 Hotel Cecil 的那幾日，上傳了一隻他在同旅館裡拍攝的影片，而且還在藍可兒死後幾天發佈了一支與「追殺女性」相關的音樂錄影帶內容，種種巧合，被網友咬定就是殺人兇手。這起報導，當時甚至還出現在各大台灣媒體版面。於是，一大票網民們開始寄信到 Morbid 信箱，大罵他是殺人犯，要他出來面對，極盡言詞惡毒之能事，甚至還把他苦心經營的重金屬音樂 YouTube 頻道檢舉到下架。
好笑的是，警方從頭到尾根本不認為 Morbid 是嫌疑人，原因很簡單，Morbid 那支在 Hotel Cecil 拍攝的影片，根本是藍可兒入住一年前拍的；除此之外，藍可兒案發生的那幾日，Morbid 人根本不在美國，護照上還有出入境章做證明。但網路上的網民，因為太想要相信藍可兒案「必須要有個兇手」（不然這個「遊戲」就沒有令人滿意的結局），再看 Morbid 那身恐怖的死金裝扮實在太符合「壞人」的樣子，於是連最基本的查證都做不到，就直接將一個素未謀面的可憐男子人格謀殺。
Morbid 後來受訪表示，雖然藍可兒案事過境遷，但他自從被網路霸凌之後，就再也寫不出音樂作品來，甚至還嘗試過幾次自殺。雖然他早就洗刷清白，但當初那些摧毀他人生的網路酸民們，卻一個都沒有來和他道歉，就好像這件事從未發生過一樣。Morbid 認為，自己也是藍可兒案的受害者之一。

這個故事，相信我們所有人都不陌生。這個年代，許多人仗著網路開放與言論自由，散佈各種未經查證的仇恨偏頗言論，意氣用事，任意傷害他人，不了解這些隨便任性的言行，對個人與社會造成了多大的傷害。這些人永遠有一套自圓其說的「正義」觀，並且也會為了心目中的「正義」而無所不用其極，但到了最後，你才發現，這些人根本不在乎別人，他們只在乎自己而已。

藍可兒案，可怕的不只是一個年輕女孩的死，還有社會看待邊緣人的眼光、「大膽猜測」的陰謀論亂象、一般民眾媒體識讀能力的低落、網路酸民文化的恐怖，還有精神疾病的黑暗。

其實藍可兒案早就已經結案，只是我們不願相信。

本以為《犯罪現場：賽西爾酒店失蹤事件》會從懸案角度去講藍可兒，沒想到其實它更著重的是社會議題。這紀錄片雖然有些滿 cheesy 的部分，但總體來說，還滿值得看的。

What an experience: open door helicopter video/photo shoot! Meet up with Sara Dietschy later, I had subscribed to her channel before I started mine! And she said my vlog is A+. SARA APPROVED
